Atlantic Television was founded in 1997 to provide national production services in the USA and Canada. The company helps to simplify production and reduce costs for producers by uniquely combining the ownership of an extensive inventory of the latest camera, lighting and grip equipment with a network of experienced personnel.
Atlantic's commitment to high quality, cost-effective production and first class customer service has resulted in rapid growth. Today the company provides production services in every major city in North America and provides support to several hundred productions a year. Clients include many of the world's leading broadcasters and production companies including: NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS, the Discovery networks, National Geographic, the BBC, ITV (UK), Channel 4 (UK), ZDF (Germany) and ABC (Australia).
The company's managing partners Howard Gibbins and Doug Propp have substantial broadcast production experience having each worked in the industry for more than twenty years. Howard Gibbins founded Atlantic after working as a producer with the BBC in London and as a senior producer with the FOX network in New York. Before joining Atlantic Doug Propp worked for CNN as it grew from a start-up into a major international network. He later became president of the documentary production company PPI, where he was an award-winning producer and director.
